Hello Margaret,
Further to my call yesterday re your email kindly forwarded to me by Cllr Watters, I wish PKC PTU to protest in the strongest possible terms to these service cuts, in particular the loss of service 23, the only east/west link to north/south express services through Kinross.
This is community vandalism by Stagecoach, it being bad enough when we went from a 2-hourly to 3-hourly service recently. I personally know people for which this service is a lifeline. If such cuts are replicated elsewhere in PKC then we should review our subsidy to the company, look elsewhere or set up our own bus company in PKC!
The Kinross-shire Community Transport Group has a full county wide representation based on the survey we did and covers whole of the Shire but its aim was always to supplement main services, not replace them and the only reason we have not had a recent meeting is the pandemic. I am away until 11 August and was planning, if possible, to call a meeting of the Group at the end of August on my return. Meantime, I suggest you have a virtual meeting with my ward colleagues whom I am certain will share my views.
