Boundary Commission Proposes Kinross-shire Boundary Changes

October 14, 2015 By Mike Barnacle

Deadline for Boundary Commission Comments

This information was originally published by Councillor Cuthbert in the Kinross Newsletter in October 2015

The Local Government Boundary Commission Scotland (LGBCS) are carrying out a review of local ward boundaries throughout Scotland.

These ward boundaries define administrative areas and the number of Councillors who will be elected in them.

The current proposal is to take a large chunk out of Kinross-shire, placing it in Ward 9 (Almond and Earn) and to reduce the number of Councillors representing Kinross-shire from four down to three.

I would ask all readers to contact the LGBCS to object to this proposal.

You can comments on the Boundary Commission Poposals in the following ways:

Online: www.consultation.lgbe-scotland.gov.uk/node/31
Email: lgbcs@scottishboundaries.gov.uk
Phone: 0131 538 7510
Fax: 0131 538 7511
Letter: Thistle House, 91 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh, EH12 5HD

Comments have to be in by 22 October 2015.

Please do this. If you don’t, Kinross-shire will be split apart.

Councillor Dave Cuthbert
Independent Councillor for Kinross-shire
